Charmed, I’m Sure

I gotta be honest and say I don’t really get the point of cell phone strap charms or mini plush dolls on a chain, but when they’re this cute, does it matter? From Japan With Love regularly ups the ante on adorable. Check out Hello Kitty, a solid performer and industry go-to in all things kawaii, inexplicably shoved into a banana:

The clean up is probably brutal (fur and goop?) which is why she also needs a bathtub:

Sick of cute? Then you’ll love The Six Stages of Drunkenness in Japanese Cell Phone Charms — a truly inspired product that features different versions of an increasingly intoxicated salaryman. He lectures! He turns morose, then angry! He vomits and passes out! What’s not to love?!

Sometimes, though, I’m in the mood for charms that earn their keep. I keep a set of wine charms around for the cocktail parties I’m always intending to throw. In theory, each guest gets a different charm to place around the stem of their wine or martini glass, making for instant identification once the night gets crowded (or blurry).

Discreations has a great selection, including a very pretty Japanese glass leaf charm set for your tipsy friends to fight over.
